SÃO PAULO, September 15, 2026 — Andeza Energy has started construction of Sertão Alto Storage, a 120 MW / 480 MWh battery energy storage system next to its Sertão Alto Solar Complex in the state of Bahia, Brazil.
The system will store energy produced by the solar complex during the day and deliver it in the evening, when demand on the Northeast grid peaks. It will use lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries in containerized units and will connect to the complex's existing 500 kV substation.
Commercial operation is expected in the second half of 2027. Construction will employ around 300 people at its peak, with priority given to workers from nearby municipalities.
