MONTERREY, October 21, 2026 — Andeza Energy has reached financial close on Huizache Solar + Storage, a 145 MWp solar plant with a 40 MW / 160 MWh battery system in the state of Coahuila, Mexico. The US$186 million senior debt package was provided by a group of international and Mexican banks.
Construction began in July 2026. The plant will connect to the national grid through a new 230 kV substation and is expected to begin commercial operation in the second half of 2027.
The battery system will store part of the plant's daytime output and deliver it in the evening, when industrial demand in northern Mexico remains high after sunset. Most of the plant's output is contracted to manufacturers in Coahuila and Nuevo León under long-term agreements.
Huizache is Andeza's third utility-scale project in Mexico and its first in the country to combine solar generation and storage at the same site.
